The Distinguished is Chairman of Meeting and all the delegations and participants of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).
GOOD AFTERNOON!!
First of all, I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to deliver our national government’s politics statements in this lofty forum.
Today, in this ASEAN Regional Forum, we come together in this place and meet for looking and result an excellent and constructive concept for a better life in this world, for the existence and appreciation of the humanism and its values.
We are here, in this forum to investigate and effort one solution for the problem which happen in one of our neighbour country today, in Myanmar. We are as representative of the Indonesian National Government deliver that our country and all of the Indonesian people express sympathy to the suffering that felt by the Myanmar’s people over there.
And also by this opportunity in this forum, we deliver our country’s National Government political statement about this problem. The government and all of the people of Indonesia could not accept all of breach of liberty and human rights which happen in Myanmar today. Support or choose to not care about the humanity problem in Myanmar meaning that we against our country’s constitution. And also by this opportunity, we view our country’s protest to the repressive reaction of the Burmese Government in stopping the public and the Buddhist Monk demonstration which critics their own government.
Honestly, we say that we are seriously following these developments very closely. We are concerned by it. We are calling on the authorities to exercise maximum restraint and desist from any acts that could cause further violence. Indonesia’s approach has always been one of engagement, not necessarily meaning that we are less concerned about the situation there in. We are just convinced that the best way to go is through engagement and encouragement. We offer a good will to mediate a forum for dialog in our country. That’s one our proposing to stop further violence happened in Myanmar.
But more of what have we say, we hope that this ASEAN Regional Forum could result the constructive and good solution for the Myanmar’s peoples problem.
And the last, that’s all our statement that represents our government’s statement to be a consideration for discussing in this forum.
Thank you very much for your attention!
